  • MESSAGE FROM HEAD OF DEPARTMENT

Dear Graduate Education Students and Candidates,

With the rise in undergraduate education rates in our country, there has also been an increase in graduate education participation. However, it is difficult to assert that this growth is sufficient in today’s information age. As you know, graduate education encompasses master’s and doctoral degrees. While undergraduate education provides individuals with a general level of competence in a particular field, a master’s degree focuses on specialization, and a doctorate signifies deep expertise and advanced proficiency in a specific area.

Through graduate education, you can become creative individuals capable of accessing knowledge and producing original ideas, thereby contributing as a valuable and qualified resource to society. The knowledge and experience you gain during your graduate studies will not only empower your personal development and broaden your horizons but also enable you to participate in decision-making processes that influence the health, social, political, economic, technological, and cultural progress of the society in which you live.

This education will equip you with the confidence, knowledge, and skills necessary to impact and shape decision-making mechanisms. As such, the importance of graduate education continues to grow due to these qualities it imparts to individuals.

A significant portion of master’s degree graduates pursue production-oriented fields and the service sector, while others continue their education at the doctoral level. Most doctoral degree holders pursue academic careers and secure employment in higher education institutions. However, in recent years, doctoral graduates have also found opportunities in research and development activities outside universities and in the service sector, aligning with the evolving needs of society. In this respect, employment opportunities for graduate degree holders are significantly higher compared to those with only undergraduate degrees.

As the Tokat Gaziosmanpaşa University Graduate Education Institute, our aim is for you to complete your graduate studies and emerge as specialized, visionary, and confident individuals who can play a more effective and decisive role in decision-making processes within your respective fields.
